Call for Abstracts for Oral and Poster Presentations

ICEL4 seeks oral and poster presentation abstracts for the 2024 international conference. This event will be held at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City, UT, from Wednesday, March 6 to Saturday March 9, 2024. Individuals are able to submit up to 4 abstracts (maximum), with up to 2 (maximum) being accepted for oral presentation.
We seek presentations that align with these ten topic categories:
Medical assistance in dying (both patient-administered and clinician-administered) – legal, ethical, clinical issues with VAD, MAID, euthanasia.
Next generation MAID issues (e.g., medical assistance in dying in prisons, organ donation and medical assistance in dying)
Withholding and withdrawing potentially life-sustaining treatment
Medical futility / nonbeneficial treatment
Surrogate decision making
Voluntary stopping eating and drinking (VSED) – legal, ethical, clinical issues.
Palliative sedation – legal, ethical, clinical issues.
Advance directives, advance care planning, and POLST
Completed Life / Tired of Life
Palliative Care, Hospice, Psychedelics
Triage, Rationing, Allocation of potentially life-sustaining treatment
Other end of life law, ethics, policy, and practice issues
Presentation Abstract Guidelines
Individuals are allowed to submit up to 4 abstracts. Please be prepared to include all items below with each submission. This will help speed up the process of decision making.

Presenter Notes:
If your abstract is accepted, you will be notified by September 15, 2023 and you will have until October 15, 2023 to formally accept.
Presentations should not be commercial in nature. Any abstract that appears to be promoting a company, product, or service will not be considered.
All accepted abstract applicants must register and pay to attend the conference

- Create a profile by selecting "New User? Click Here" below. You will use your profile to login prior to submitting.
- *After your profile is created, you will be returned to the main page with a top navagation bar with the following three options.*
- 'Call for Abstracts' 'My Profile' 'Submit an Abstract'
- Click 'Submit an Abstract on the top navigation bar.
- A page will open that says 'Your Submissions' where you will select 'add new'
- To add Co-Presenters select 'add new'
- You may save and return to this page anytime by logging into your profile
- Once you save and submit, you will be brought to a submission page that will show your submissions and their status (ie, completed, incomplete, etc)
